William Shatner is a Canadian actor and author who has been working in the entertainment industry for over fifty years.[1] He is perhaps best known for his role as Captain Kirk in the classic science-fiction television show Star Trek. His starring role in The Twilight Zone episode Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (Oct. 11, 1963) is a classic.[2] He has also appeared in a number of movies, including the only movie ever made in esperanto. Additionally, he has been in a number of advertisements and television shows, including Encore in the Mission: Impossible series (season six episode two, and season seven episodes six and seven). Shatner then stared as a rather bungling and eccentric lawyer in the television show Boston Legal.[3]

Shatner has frequented the Tonight Show where he would ridicule Sarah Palin's Twitter posts and book by reading them in a spoken word style. Palin has since been on the show, mocking Shatner's own works and experiences, especially the fact that he "confronted an elephant on a moonlit night in his underwear." [4]

Although Shatner is the primary author of a number of books, he used coauthors and ghostwriters.
