John F. Kennedy International Airport (IATA: JFK, ICAO: KJFK, FAA LID: JFK) is the busiest and largest airport serving New York City. It has six terminals and four runways. Previously called New York International Airport and Idlewild Airport using the IATA code IDL, it was renamed to John F. Kennedy International Airport shortly after the president was assassinated, and the IATA code was switched to JFK. The airport serves as the primary hub for JetBlue Airways[1][2] In 2016 alone the airport handled 58,956,288 passengers; making it the fifth busiest airport in the United States; outranked by only Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, O'Hare International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport respectively.[3]
