Indianapolis is the capital city of Indiana, located near the geographical center of the state. It had a population of 1,607,486 in 2000.[1] Indianapolis is famous for the Indianapolis 500, and for hosting the United States Grand Prix for Formula One, although this event has not been held since 2007
