Three of the seven seats on the Franklin Public School District School Board were up for at-large general election on April 5, 2016.[3] Incumbents Alan Aleksandrowicz and Debbie Larson and challenger Meenakshi (Sonali) Ghosh ran unopposed and won the election.[4][5]
The third seat up for election was held by incumbent Melissa Klein. She filed noncandidacy paperwork, indicating she would not run for re-election. Her absence in the election guaranteed Ghosh won a seat on the board.[4]
