Short description: Species of beetle

Tetraopes basalis, also known as the western milkweed longhorn beetle, is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by John Lawrence LeConte in 1852. It is known from the United States.^[1] The western milkweed longhorn beetle is most often seen from April to August, feeding on all parts of its Asclepias host plants.^[2] Pupae and larvae live in the soil below the plant.^[2]
