MADISON, Wisconsin: The small local election held February 15 saw 9 proposed measures, 8 of which had to do with school issues, 6 of those gaining approval by residents. The one non school measure, Stevens Point Mall bond question asked residents to allow the city to relocate the community college to the near empty Stevens Point mall in the downtown area. The bond was approved, allowing the school to relocate and hopefully reinvigorate the downtown area with increased activity. Seven of the proposed school measures asked residents to allow their district to exceed state revenue limits, 4 were approved leaving 3 defeated. One district had a levy increase question which was approved by voters.
