Cannabis beverages are new drinks spiked with THC, which is the active ingredient in cannabis that causes harm while giving people a high. Cannabis beverages are only 1% of the cannabis industry, as of 2022, but are predicted to grow[1] and thereby cause more harm.
As observed by University of Connecticut’s School of Pharmacy department head Charles Michael White:
“ | THC can increase the risk of paranoia, anxiety, and even psychosis and hallucinations. The higher the dose, the greater the risk and severity of these adverse effects.[1] | ” |
