Disciples Of Jesus

From Conservapedia

The disciples (i.e. - followers) of Jesus were those who followed Jesus during his earthly ministry and carried on his teachings following his death and resurrection:

They original disciples were (as listed by Matthew 10, chapters 2-4:)

  1. Simon (also called Peter)
  2. Andrew (brother of Simon/Peter)
  3. James (son of Zebedee)
  4. John (son of Zebedee)
  5. Phillip
  6. Bartholomew
  7. Thomas
  8. Matthew (the tax collector)
  9. James (son of Alphaeus)
  10. Thaddaeus (Judas, son of James)
  11. Simon (the Zealot)
  12. Judas Iscariot (who would later betray Jesus)

Judas Iscariot was later replaced by Matthais, chosen by the casting of lots after the death of Judas Iscariot and the resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

Saul (known as Paul after his conversion to Christ) is sometimes either considered the true replacement for Judas Iscariot, or, alternatively, the "spiritual successor" to Jesus' earthly ministry.
