Löwe, Konrad:

Austrian actor; born at Prossnitz, Moravia, Feb. 6, 1856. He took a law course at the University of Vienna, and then went on the stage (1878). After filling engagements in various Austrian and German cities he was called in1895 to the Hofburgtheater, Vienna, of which company he has since been a member. He plays heroic parts.

Löwe has also been active as a writer and dramatist. He has published a volume of poetry entitled "Leben und Lieben" (Leipsic, 1890), and has adapted Grabbe's "Herzog Theodor von Gothland" (Vienna, 1892).
