Seasons Of The Heart

From Conservapedia

Seasons of the Heart (2002) is a dramatic film about a homeless white women befriended by a black Christian woman. In the "Spring" segment of the movie, she lost her husband and two children to a rockslide accident. After a few months living with her parents, she leaves her tiny California town for Los Angeles, where she gets a job as assistant manager of a nightclub. Her Latino boss puts the moves on her, but becomes angry when she persists in rebuffing him.

Even customers can tell that her boss is abusive, and wonder why she puts up with it. She makes a decisive mistake when he angrily expresses his unrequited love and tells her to shut the door: she should have gone through it first (and quit). Instead she stays and he gets what he wants; then he dumps her (and fires her).

Why didn't she realize the relationship was toxic? Why didn't she leave with her virtue intact? Didn't she realize what would happen if she stayed with this kind of man?

In "Winter", beaten and raped, she takes to the streets. She loses her apartment and her car and starts shooting intravenous drugs. She just gave up.
