From Conservapedia

The pterion is the spot on the temple of the human skull where four bones - frontal, parietal, squamous temporal and the great wing of the sphenoid - meet. The pterion is opposite the point on the surface of the brain where the lateral fissue ends and its rami begin. The anterior branch of the middle meningeal artery and its companion vein lie in a deep groove on the inside of the skull at the pterion.
