A Tri-City Rural Fire District No. 4 Bond Issue measure was approved on the May 21, 2013, election ballot in Douglas County, which is in Oregon.
This measure authorized the Tri-City Rural Fire District to increase its debt by $2.24 million through issuing general obligation bonds in that amount in order to fund the construction and equipping of a fire station. The average estimated property tax levy rate needed to repay these bonds in the required 25 years is $0.6277 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.[1]

If approved, this measure would provide funds for capital costs including: • Constructing a Fire Station The existing fire station was built in ] 955, and is not large enough to house fire apparatus and to provide for the training of firefighters. The current station lot is too small to rebuild upon. If approved, the bonds would finance a new station to be built on a site that the district has been developing for the past several years. The new building would be seismically sate and provide disaster shelter for district residents. The Bonds would mature not later than 25-years from the date of issuance. The measure is estimated to cost taxpayers an average of 0.6277 per thousand of assessed value each year. For the owner of a home with a taxable assessed valuation of $100,000, the estimated cost would be $62.77 per year.[1][2] |
