4. Select a scientific discovery or theory of the 20th century and discuss it.

5. Pick an aspect of art or literature in the early 20th century and write about it.

6. Write an essay about any aspect of the lecture.

7. How was World War I worse than all other wars in history before it?

8. What is your view of secret alliances among nations? Do you think the secret alliances made World War I worse?

9. When, why and how did the United States enter World War I?

10. Describe and explain the Great Depression.

11. Discuss nationalism, using India (or another country in Eastern, Southern or Southwestern Asia) as an example.
