Slavery And Abortion

From Conservapedia

Despite leftist nonsense objections,[1] the modern-day justification of abortion closely resembles the mid-19th century justification of slavery, in which in almost all cases the logical reasoning behind both arguments are entirely identical.

So-called "positive goods"[edit]

John C. Calhoun and other racist Southern Democrats in his day upheld the system of slavery, arguing that slavery provides food, shelter, and stability for the slaves, thus somehow benefiting them. They also further argued that slavery prevents unemployment by putting blacks to work and thus prevents so-called anarchy and bloodshed.[2][3] Note how this argument is uncannily similar to the modern-day progressive argument on how abortion somehow benefits the aborted on the basis that "otherwise they would be forced to endure a world of misery". Some even go on to argue that abortion somehow reduces crime as it supposedly stops most criminals from being born. (argument debunked, see this link)

Legality vs. morality[edit]

A common liberal argument to justify abortion is on the basis that it's legal. Many constantly cite Roe v. Wade to somehow "prove" that an unborn baby is not living because "it's the law". Note how similar this is to how past racist Democrats used Dred Scott v. Sandford to justify slavery on the basis that "it's the law."[citation needed]

Conflict of rights[edit]

A common premise of arguments justifying slavery and those justifying abortion is the idea that one person's natural rights somehow have the so-called "right" to infringe upon another's natural rights. The abortion movement always makes the supposition that unborn children have no rights and therefore their fates can be decided solely by the mother. Similarly, past justifications of slavery included the obvious example of arguing that whites had "right" to own slaves, some even falsely citing the Bible to justify.[see previous citation][4]

Evangelical opposition[edit]

Among the largest opposition to slavery in America during the 1850s came from northern evangelicals who joined the Republican Party after the Whig Party broke up. Likewise, the current opposition to abortion is strongest among white evangelicals,[5] three-quarters of whom intended to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election.[6]

De Humanization[edit]

People use the excuse that it's okay to enslave People because they are inferior, this is very similar to what abortion Advocates do when they say that a baby in the womb is not a human. In both cases they both use dehumanization. 7 8
