Penelope

In Greek mythology, Penelope was the wife of Odysseus. Her chief characteristics are patience and fidelity, as she remained faithful to her husband throughout the ten years he was away fighting the Trojan War, and the further eleven years of his voyage home as described in the Odyssey. This was despite the attentions of a horde of suitors who filled up her palace in Ithaca; to deter them, she promised to make a decision only when she had finished a tapestry she was working on. She then unpicked by night all the work she had done each day, so that the tapestry would never be finished and she would never have to give them an answer.
