Clearwater, Florida

Clearwater is a city in Florida in the Tampa metropolitan area, just north of Tampa.

It houses the headquarters for the controversial cult Scientology;^[1] some in the area argue that the cult has an outsized influence on local politics.

It is the home of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a sealife rescue facility who's most famous resident is Winter, a bottlenose dolphin that survived losing its tail in an abandoned crab trap, and was fitted with an artificial tail (the research led to improvements in human artificial limbs). Winter was the star of the two movies in the Dolphin Tale franchise.
