Intelligence Directorate (Dirección de Inteligencia or DI) is the principal intelligence agency of Cuba. It was established in late 1961.[1][2]
Structure[edit]
DI has six divisions divided into two categories: the Operational Divisions and the Support Divisions.[1]
- Operational Divisions: The Operational Divisions consists of the political and economic intelligence division, the external counter-intelligence division, and the military intelligence division.[1] The political and economic intelligence division is divided into four sections: one for Eastern Europe, one for North America, one for Western Europe, and one for Africa, Asia and Latin America.[1] The external counter-intelligence division is responsible for infiltrating foreign intelligence agencies and the surveillance of exiles.[1]
- Support Divisions: The Support Divisions consists of the technical support division, the information division, and the preparation division.[1]
