Note: Cities listed in this box are those among the 100 largest in the United States that held elections in 2015.

The city of Fort Worth, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 9, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 27, 2015. All eight city council seats were up for election.

Incumbents ran for re-election in every race. Four of them were unchallenged: Mayor Betsy Price, District 3 incumbent Zim Zimmerman, District 6 incumbent Jungus Jordan and District 9 incumbent Ann Zadeh. The other five incumbents faced one challenger each.

Despite the relatively low number of candidates in Fort Worth's 2015 elections, plenty of campaign cash still flowed into several of the council races. The Fort Worth Star Telegram reported that five-term District 4 incumbent Danny Scarth and challenger Cary Moon had almost $200,000 on hand between the two of them as of March 31, 2015. The District 2 candidates, incumbent Sal Espino and Steve Thornton, on the other hand, had amassed a collective war chest worth around $100,000. You can read the full story here.
