Soraon is a small village of 241 hectares in Handia Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Soraon depends on Mau Aima (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Soraon's pin code is 212405[4], and village code is 05411900. The area of Soraon is segregated as 78 hectares irrigated area, 1 hectares unirrigated area. remaining 28 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Soraon has One post office (Ugrasen Pur S.O) and One Hundred Twenty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Soraon has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

According to a census 2011 report, 309305 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 201044 male, 108261 female with 176149 (56.95%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 131773 males and 44376 females. 44081 males and 13847 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 28873 male and 14491 female agricultural labor. 133156 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Mau Aima (NP) and Allahabad to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
