Sumha is a small village of 44.92 hectares in Belthara Road Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sumha depends on Belthara Road , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Sumha's pin code is 221715[4], and village code is 09079100. The area of Sumha is segregated as 42 hectares irrigated area, 1 hectares unirrigated area. the 1.92 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).
Sumha has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sumha is a census village in the district of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 518 and has total administration over 75 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

According to a census 2011 report, 176 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 130 male, 46 female with 91 (51.7%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 80 males and 11 females. 34 males and 9 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 20 male agricultural labor. 85 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Belthara Road and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
