5. Question from the lecture “Was this "Louisiana Purchase" an improper exercise of power?” I think that the Louisiana Purchase was a proper exercise of power at the time, as the president was elected by the people and it was not prohibited by the Constitution.
6. Question from the lecture: “Is it wrong for a politician to cut a deal with another politician like the "corrupt bargain" between Adams and Clay?” I think that is wrong for any politician to cut deals with other politicians as these are usually not in the best interest of the people. I think that the decisions should be made by the elected positions and bribery should not be tolerated.
7. The bull in this cartoon represents Great Britain, the bear represents Russia and Columbia represents America. This cartoon probably takes place shortly after the war 1812, as Russia is making peace between Britain and America.
