Empiricism

From Conservapedia

Empiricism is a philosophical position which only considers information that is available to the senses as valid. It forms the foundation of the scientific method.

While the philosophy itself is at odds with the spiritual aspects of religion, science is not, in that science only studies what is empirically observable, and has nothing to say about that which is not.
