Final Fantasy (Video Game)

Final Fantasy is the first installment of the main Final Fantasy series. It was originally released for the Famicom in 1987 and for the North American equivalent, the Nintendo Entertainment System, in 1989.

Story[edit]

The player plays as the four warriors of light who are destined to bring light to the four crystals and save the world. The warriors travel the world looking for the crystals and helping those in need. Each crystal is protected by a monster which the warriors have to defeat. They collect different vehicles to travel on boat, canoe, air ship. After restoring the crystals the warriors have to defeat Garland in order to foil his evil plot.

Classes[edit]

At the start of the game, the player must choose four characters, each being a different class. There are six beginning classes; Warrior or Fighter, Thief, Monk or Blackbelt, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage. Each one has a different advantage in combat. Warriors can equip any weapon, Thieves have good speed, Monks can fight well with their bare fists, Black Mages can learn powerful black magic, White mages can learn powerful white magic, Red Mages can learn some lesser black and white magic and had good normal attacks unlike the other mages. All the classes can be upgraded, Warrior to Knight (who can learn some white magic), Thief to Ninja (who can learn some black magic), Monk to Master, Black Mage to Black Wizard, White Mage to White Wizard, Red Mage to Red Wizard.

Magic[edit]

Rather than abilities the game only has magic. There is black magic (which has offensive spells) and white magic (defensive, healing and a few offensive spells). Magic ccan be bought at stores.
