Industrial Areas Foundation

The Industrial Areas Foundation is a network of community organizing activist groups founded in 1940 by Saul Alinsky, Roman Catholic Bishop Bernard James Sheil, Marshall Field III, and Kathryn Lewis, daughter of union organizer John L. Lewis.[1][2]

Organizers Cesar Chavez and Fred Ross were brought to the forefront by the work of Alinsky and the IAF.[3]
