The South Dakota Fines and Interest Rates on School Land Sales Amendment, also known as Amendment B, was on the November 2, 1982 ballot in South Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure allowed county treasurers to apportion state fines collected in the county to public school within the county. The measure also authorized the legislature to establish interest rates on school land sales and removed the requirement of a sixty day newspaper advertisement of school land sales.[1][2]
