Dickinson earned his B.S. in 1992 and his M.P.A. in 1995 from Seattle University. Dickinson has worked as the director of a casting company for 25 years.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 17, 2014. Incumbent Sharon Tomiko Santos (D) and Daniel Bretzke (R) defeated John Dickinson (R) in the primary. Santos defeated Bretzke in the general election.[5][6][7]
