American History Homework 11 BenjaminH

1. Learning history helps us to learn what our fore fathers would have down in a situation like we are going into today, a possible depression.

Correct.

2. I think that the bombing of Pearl Harbor was a good of a reason to enter the war as we were going to get. So yes I think that we didn’t really have a reason to enter earlier but if we entered any later Britain could have been conquered.

Excellent.

3. I liked Ronald Regan’s approach the best because he controlled who came in unlike Clinton who just let large amounts of people immigrate.

Reagan, actually, was not much different from anyone else on this particular issue. But I understand your point and it is a good one.

4. One of the things I liked about the roaring twenties is that President William Harding elected 4 conservative judges to the Supreme Court. It helped the country prepare for a couple years later when FDR would take office, a very liberal president.

Terrific answer. Will use as a model! (Note, however, that justices are appointed, not elected, to the Supreme Court.)

5. I thought that the New Deal would have worked out. Since WWII had started before we got involved so I might of started to raise an army so if we ever got involved in the war we would have been ready.

OK.

6. I am totally for dropping the atomic bomb on Japan because not only did it save American lives but also in the end it did save Japanese lives. It also ended the war sooner so that our troops could go home.

Good point about saving Japanese lives.

7. I think the cartoon is in the 1930s with FDR trying to get the New Deal passed.

Excellent, but could say a bit more to explain the cartoon. (Minus 1).

H2. I really liked General Patton’s stagey with his tanks. He would camouflage then and group them together in a place where the Germans would march through, then he would open fire when they didn’t even see the tanks.

Excellent insight.

H4. I am for the United Nations because it helped to bring peace after the war to unite all of the nations.

OK, but it doesn't seem to work that well in practice. See model answers.

H5. It would be hard to control communist infiltration because the nation of America is very big. But everyone should keep an eye out for communism and then report it to the law.

Right.
Good answers. 99/100. One is being included as a model answer. Congratulations!--Aschlafly 21:33, 6 December 2008 (EST)
