The United States Code is a code of the general and permanent laws of the United States. It is organized into numbered titles and sections; for example, a provision of law cited as 35 U.S.C. § 112 is found in Title 35 and is Section 112 of that title.
The following titles have been enacted into positive law: 1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 23, 28, 31, 32, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 44, 46, and 49. The remaining titles are prima facie the law.
