Water Fluoridation

Water fluoridation is the practice of putting fluorine compounds in drinking water with the intention of helping to prevent tooth decay.

Opposition to water fluoridation[edit]

Many opponents of water fluoridation point to studies showing that the fluorine compounds used are neurotoxic,^[1] may be ineffective at preventing tooth decay^[2] and comprise involuntary medical experimentation upon an unsuspecting public.^[3] Other claims include reproductive effects.^[4] The John Birch Society claimed for years that water fluoridation was a communist plot, drawing the mockery of the media.^[5]
