Alpha

Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Metaphorically, it can also mean 'the beginning'. In the Book of Revelation in the Bible, Jesus is described as 'the alpha and the omega'[1] (The beginning and the end).

In software development, 'alpha' is a very early stage of release, prior to beta testing

Alpha was also the name of a family of RISC microprocessors developed and sold by Digital Equipment Corporation. The Alpha intellectual property was bought by Intel, but the product line was discontinued

Alpha waves are electromagnetic waves in the brain.
