Homosexuality In The Military

From Conservapedia

Homosexuality in the military is handled in diverse ways throughout the world and throughout world history. In America, General Peter Pace told the Chicago Tribune, "I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts."[1]

Robert Knight of Concerned Women of America made the following insightful commentary about homosexuality in the military in the countries of Great Britain and the United States:

Despite a push to encourage military service by active homosexuals in Great Britain, Pentagon personnel will hopefully consider the differences between Great Britain and the U.S.,” said Robert Knight, director of CWA’s Culture & Family Institute. “They should note that opening up the military to homosexuality might, just might, negatively affect recruitment, especially in the red states.”[2]

The conservative website LifeSite News offers similar commentary on homosexuality in the military in the United States:

The DOD [Department of Defense] has long defended its policy against permitting homosexuals in the military, arguing that permitting homosexuality in the military would disrupt vital cohesion, discipline, and morale in military units and “seriously impairs the accomplishment of the military mission.”

“The presence of such [homosexual] members adversely affects the ability of the Military Services to maintain discipline, good order, and morale; to foster mutual trust and confidence among service members … who frequently must live and work under close conditions affording minimal privacy”.[3]

Conversely Plutarch cites the fact that the Theban Sacred band was composed of lovers as a key element in its military effectiveness.
