Snoopy

From Conservapedia

Snoopy is one of the most colorful characters of the Peanuts comic strip being a bit of a rascal while at the same time having fantasy adventures. He also happens to be a dog (specifically, a beagle), albeit, one who walks on two feet. Memorable story themes involve his battles with the Red Baron, and the odd way his dog house seems to be able to hold much more than it should and with items that dogs wouldn't have. Snoopy never talks (although readers are able to read his thoughts via thought balloons), but in other ways he mixes the world of humans and animals.

Snoopy is Charlie Brown's dog. As explained in the strip, in the 1972 feature film Snoopy, Come Home and in the 1980 TV special Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown had first obtained Snoopy when his parents got him after a bully made Charlie Brown cry by dumping sand on him when he was younger. He was previously owned by a girl named Lila, as established by a series of strips in June 1968; Lila makes her only appearance in the strip on August 24, 1968, when Snoopy goes to visit her in the hospital where she is staying due to unspecified reasons (which is also depicted in Lila's first animated appearance in Snoopy, Come Home). Her only other animated appearance is in the 1991 Peanuts TV special Snoopy's Reunion. In all her appearances, it is explained that Lila had to give Snoopy up because she and her family had moved into an apartment building that does not allow dogs inside.
