Bucknell University is a highly selective private university in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1846 as the University at Lewisburg, and changed its name to Bucknell University in 1881, after benefactor William Bucknell, who helped save the university from financial ruin.[3] The school colors are orange and blue and the mascot is Bucky the Bison.

About the school[edit]

Bucknell has approximately 3,400 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students. There are more than 50 majors and 60 minors within two colleges: engineering and liberal arts. Bucknell has small class sizes, with an 11:1 student-faculty ratio.
