Arch could be see as a curve with the ends down and the middle up. In Architecture arch is defined as a curved masonry construction; it is mainly used as a passageway, gateway, or for supporting the weight above it.

Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France

Romans also introduced the triumphal arch to celebrate military victories. One of the most famous monuments is the "Arc de Triomphe" in Paris.
