Spectator Ion

From Conservapedia

A spectator ion is an ion which is present, but does not take place in a reaction. Spectator ions are commonly found in a reaction between a strong acid and a strong base. If the resulting salt created by the combination of the conjugate base and conjugate acid is soluble in water, then both the conjugate acid and conjugate base act as spectator ions.
