Battle Of Tanagra

From Conservapedia

The Battle of Tanagra (426 B.C.) was fought during the Second Peloponnesian War between the rival Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta. The battle was part of a two pronged Athenian offensive to try to crush Thebes and Boeotia, allies of Sparta. Tanagra was the second part of the offensive. The Athenian general Nicias made a halfhearted invasion of Boetia, but retired back to Attica after an inconclusive victory.[1]
