Chuck Smith

From Conservapedia

Charles Ward "Chuck" Smith (1927-2013) was the founder of the Calvary Chapel fellowship of churches, beginning with the original Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California in the late 1960s.[1] Reaching out to hippies and ex-hippies during the Jesus Movement, Smith's original churches spread so that today over 1,000 churches have the name Calvary Chapel.[2]

Apart from his pastoring, Smith was a prolific author of Christian works.

He was born in 1927, attended LIFE Bible College, and worked as a preacher in many places before arriving at Calvary Chapel.[3]

He died October 3, 2013.[4] His successor may be causing a minor schism in Calvary College.[5]
