Saint Dymphna is a Catholic Saint who was killed by her father about 650-700 A.D. when she refused his advances.
Dymphna was born in Ireland to an Irish pagan chieftain named Damon and a religious Christian. After Damon's wife died he made advances towards his daughter. Dymphna fled to Belgium with the priest and family friend Gerebernus. Her father discovered where she was and beheaded the priest. Damon then slew his daughter in a rage because she still spurned his advances. In the Catholic tradition her intercessionary prayers are considered beneficial for help concerning mental illness and possession.[1]
