Western salad dressing is a type of salad dressing made of some combination of high-fructose corn syrup, tomato paste, soybean oil, vinegar, salt, paprika, onion and apple juice. Western dressing was originally a creation of the Wishbone Salad Dressing company. Wishbone now manufactures three different formulas the dressing: Original, Light and Fat free. The dressing is a creamy French dressing with tomato, onion, and garlic flavors.[1]
Western dressing is similar to French dressing, and both dressings are an American creation.[2] The dressing can used to complement a salad, as hamburger, or vegetables.[3] The dressing can also be used as a barbecue sauce.[4] Individuals also have their own recipes to make Western Dressing.[5]
