Civil Engineer

A Civil Engineer is a person who practices disciplines that deals with the feasibility studies, design, construction, control, research and maintenance of the built environment or structural works. Civil engineering may have commenced in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia as needed for the construction of shelters.

The name started in the 18th century to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.
