Master Of Arts

From Conservapedia

Master of Arts (from the Latin, Artium Magistri; at some institutions thus known as A.M.), is the earliest post-graduate degree established at early universities. At Oxford and Cambridge, it was once awarded automatically to graduates who remained in residence at their colleges an additional year. Later, with the establishment of earned Doctoral degrees, Master of Arts was more often awarded in passing to those enrolled in Doctoral programs. In recent years, many new Master's level degrees have been established for professional credentials, such as the MFA (Master of Fine Arts) and the MBA (Master of Business Administration)
