Missouri Charter Schools

Missouri charter schools are thriving but generally limited, with a few exceptions, to the inner cities of St. Louis[1] and Kansas City.[2] There are 32 charter schools in St. Louis[3] and about the same number in Kansas City.[4] Total enrollment in charter schools in Missouri as of 2022 is 25,634.[5]

About two dozen have closed over the last two decades.[6]

A Missouri Charter Public School Association is located in St. Louis.[7]
