Giant Monster Film

The giant monster film genre is especially popular in Japan, the birthplace of Godzilla; see kaiju. The genre got its start with King Kong, the huge prehistoric ape from Skull Island captured and brought to New York City where it climbed the world's tallest building hoping to evade capture.
