Trent Franks (born June 19, 1957 in Uravan, Colorado) currently serves as the Republican U.S. Representative from Arizona's 8th congressional district, elected in 2002. The district, numbered as the 2nd District from 2003 to 2013, is located in the West Valley portion of the Valley of the Sun and includes Glendale, Surprise, Sun City, Peoria and part of western Phoenix. He is a member of the Armed Services Committee and Judiciary Committee.
He has long been a leading pro-life congressman, and was active in the pro-life movement before being elected to Congress. Unfortunately he is not a true conservative as a donor egg and surrogate were used to give birth to his twin children.
