Yasunari Takeshima is a Kyoto native Japanese film and television actor. His fascination in acting began while he was a lead in a rock band. Though he primarily began as a director and writer for a theatrical troupe in Tokyo, demands as an actor had increased.
Bilingual in English and Japanese, Yasunari established himself as an international actor. He is known in notable works such as Martin Scorcese’s Silence (2016) and The Last Recipe: Memory of Giraffe's Tongue(2017) directed by Yōjirō Takita. Apart from acting, Takeshima continues to work as a script doctor.
He is skilled singing, traditional Japanese martial arts, playing Shamisen and navigating traditional Japanese boats.
