1. Spanish, English, French

Correct.

2. Christopher Columbus inspires me because he persevered through all of the hardships that he faced, and trusted God in it as well.

Good.

3. The democracy was not yet fully developed. The leadership was also very weak at the time.

Great point about leadership. However, I don't think a lack of democracy meant a lack of survivability. European nations survived and thrived at the time without democracy. (Minus 1).

4. Religion was the motivation for the first Massachusetts settlements. The Puritans wanted to purify the existing Church of England, they wanted to improve what was already there. The Pilgrims wanted to have a fresh start, and to create their own church for everyone to believe in.

Good.

5. William Penn was remarkable because he stood up for what he believed in, even though he was he was arrested for it.

Good, could mention his role in Pennsylvania. (Minus 1).

6. Virginia is an example of a Joint-Stock Colony, Connecticut is an example of a Charter Colony, Maryland is an example of a Proprietary Colony, and Virginia is an example of a Royal Colony,

Good, but notice how you mention Virginia twice. How could it be both? (It was at different time periods.) (Minus 1).

7. Were the Puritans right to be strict and to expel people of other religions? Yes and no. They believed that government and religion should be combined as one. They wanted everyone in their colony to agree on religion to prevent an uproar against the government. But they had also come to America to free themselves of religious constraints from the English. One of the reasons to leave England was to have freedom in government and religion.

Excellent!
Great start! Score: 67/70.--Aschlafly 08:31, 11 September 2008 (EDT)
