Matehna is a small village of 7 hectares in Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Matehna depends on surat pur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Matehna's pin code is 225304[4], and village code is 05717700. The area of Matehna is segregated as 123 hectares irrigated area, 10 hectares unirrigated area. the 7 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 15 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Matehna has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Matehna is a census village in the district of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 548 and has total administration over 97 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 125 (22.81%) males constitute 55 (10.04%) of the population and females 70 (12.77%).

The workforce is 145 male, 20 female with 100 (60.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 96 males and 4 females. 88 males and 4 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male agricultural labor. 65 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of surat pur and Barabanki to sell jaggery and make their living.
