Trigonometric Function

Trigonometric functions are mathematical functions which were traditionally derived from trigonometry, the study of the triangle. Many of these functions have been extended in definition beyond the real numbers to the complex plane using analytic extension (Taylor series). The most basic trigonometric functions are:

• sine
• cosine
• tangent
• cotangent
• secant
• cosecant

as well as their inverses:

• arcsine
• arccosine
• arctangent
• arccotangent
• arcsecant
• arccosecant

Variants of these functions form the hyperbolic trigonometric functions.
