Republican Motherhood

From Conservapedia

Republican motherhood is a term used to describe the role of moms before, during, and after the American Revolution, prior to compulsory education in the United States. It was based on the belief that mothers passed on the hard-learned, hard-earned lessons of prior generations so that they would not be forgotten. In this way, the ideals of Republicanism were upheld by the family.
