Prince William, Duke of Cambridge (William Arthur Philip Louis) (born June 21, 1982) is second in line to the crown of the United Kingdom. He is the eldest son of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales (the heir apparent) (born 1948) and Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997). He was educated at Eton College and at St Andrews University, Scotland, where he gained a degree in geography. He subsequently attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and later joined the RAF, becoming a Flight Lieutenant in the Search and Rescue Force.

He married Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton (born January 9, 1982) on April 29, 2011,^[1] whereupon his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, bestowed them with the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Earl and Countess of Strathearn and Baron and Lady Carrickfergus.

Prince William and his bride Kate snubbed multiple liberals by not inviting them to their wedding, including President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, and the most recent Labour Party prime ministers, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair.^[2] Yet William and Kate's wedding broke the record for the most attended and viewed wedding of all time.

The Duke and Duchess have three children: a son, Prince George of Cambridge, born July 22, 2013,^[3] a daughter, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, born May 2, 2015,^[4] and a son, Louis Arthur Charles, born April 23, 2018.^[5]
